This design is inspired by a renowned Han Dynasty brocade unearthed at the ancient Niya ruins in Xinjiang, China, and now preserved at the Xinjiang Museum. Known as “Five Stars Rising in the East,” the original textile features intricate motifs of clouds, flying birds, mythical beasts, the sun, and the moon.
Its rich use of five colors symbolizes the ancient Chinese philosophy of the Five Elements and their corresponding celestial bodies. Recreated using exquisite Sichuan brocade craftsmanship, this design represents harmony between heaven and earth, good fortune, and auspicious blessings, while showcasing the remarkable sophistication and artistry of ancient Chinese weaving techniques.
