The design centers on flowering hydrangea branches, elephants, and butterflies as its key motifs. It draws inspiration from Qing Dynasty brocade patterns preserved by the Palace Museum, including the decorative motifs found on garments in Twelve Beauties of Yongzheng and surviving Shu brocade textiles from the mid-Qing period.
Combining these traditional elements with the Qing Dynasty decorative philosophy of “every motif carries a meaning, and every meaning conveys auspiciousness,” the design reflects the elegant splendor and refined aesthetic of a flourishing era.
